Acupuncture
​Acupuncture is a healing practice that comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and has been used for thousands of years. It involves inserting very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body, called acupoints. Most people feel little to no pain—just a slight tingling, warmth, or heaviness where the needle is placed.
It is thought to balance the flow of Qi (or energy), the body’s vital energy. According to TCM, Qi flows through pathways called meridians. If Qi is blocked or out of balance, it can cause illness or discomfort. Acupuncture helps restore smooth flow and balance.

It works by stimulating nerves, muscles, and connective tissue, which can increase blood flow, trigger the release of natural painkillers (endorphins), and regulate nervous system activity. It’s often used for pain relief (like back pain, headaches, arthritis), stress and anxiety, digestive issues, fertility support, and overall wellness. When done by a trained professional with sterile needles, acupuncture is considered safe with minimal side effects.

About me
I’m Florence, a fully qualified and licensed Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncturist based in Devon. I work from The Chapel House Studios in Totnes, The Fountain For Health in Teignmouth and Torbay Osteopaths in StMarychurch, Torquay. I studied at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) gaining a BSc Honours Degree in Acupuncture.
While I love to treat everybody with a range of conditions, I specialise in Women's Health and have a diploma in Gynaecology, Fertility and Obstetrics Acupuncture. I am dedicated to supporting women and couples on their fertility journey. With advanced training in reproductive health, I combine the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with evidence-based acupuncture to restore balance, reduce stress and enhance fertility.
